Colin Doughty has invested much time, skill and resources in the development of these purpose-built drive units.   A REAL and TESTED 5- Axis machine plan, using the drives, has been added to his product range.  The machine demonstrates what CAN be done, at a fraction of the cost of 5-Axis turnkey setups.  Much testing and refinement has been performed. CNC_Toolkit GCode has been thoroughly tested running Doughty Drives, with excellent results.  

The stepper-driven units have ZERO backlash, excellent holding torque and up to 166.666 micro steps per degree resolution. They are stable at extensions of 400mm and run at up to 120 degrees per second.  The units configure to suit any need and represent a cost-effective,  highly versatile solution.  Considered in terms of performance and value-for-money  these units are very difficult to beat..  Videos /  information can be found  on the  "Doughty Drive" website.
